Who writes the drafts
AI Studio uses the Gemini API of Google LLC. Google processes the request to produce the draft and returns it to us; your worksheet is then laid out by our own code.
What is sent
Only the settings you choose for the worksheet:
- subject and topic;
- grade or language level, the worksheet language and any support language;
- the question types, how many of each, difficulty, and whether to include an answer key.
Your name, e-mail address and account details are not sent. Do not type personal information about students or anyone else into the subject or topic: AI Studio warns you when something looks like personal information (an e-mail address, phone number, identity number or bank account) and refuses to send the clearest cases.
What is kept
- By us: a record that a generation happened — when, for which account, how many questions, and whether it succeeded — so we can apply your monthly allowance. We do not store the text of your request.
- By Google: Google handles the request under its Gemini API terms. Whether Google may use requests to improve its services depends on the service tier our account uses; until we have confirmed it, assume Google’s terms for unpaid use may apply.
The limits of AI output
- It can be wrong. A draft can contain factual errors, wrong answers, or questions at the wrong level, while looking convincing. Our code checks the structure of the draft, not the truth of every sentence.
- It can be biased or unsuitable for your learners in ways the model does not notice.
- It is not unique to you. Similar settings can produce similar drafts for others; we do not promise originality or copyright.
You decide what reaches your class. Read and correct every draft before you use it. You own the worksheets you make from it, and you are responsible for them.
Rules
Use AI Studio only for teaching materials, in line with our Acceptable Use Policy and Google’s Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy. Do not try to make it produce harmful, hateful, sexual or age-inappropriate content.
Decisions about people
We do not use AI to make decisions about you or your students. AI drafts are suggestions a teacher reviews.
Bad output
If a draft is wrong in a way that matters, or unsafe, tell us through the help center — category “Something is broken” — with the subject and settings you used. If generation failed after it was counted, it is returned to your allowance automatically.
