How data is deleted
- When something happens — you delete a worksheet, a class or your account, or a teacher removes a student — the data is deleted at once (a removed student’s messages after 90 days).
- Records with a fixed period — usage records, help messages, requests, reports, consent and acceptance records — are deleted by a scheduled clean-up when their period ends. Until that clean-up is switched on in production, we carry out the same deletion by hand at least every six months.
- Records kept by providers — request logs, analytics, payments — follow the provider’s settings described above.
Deleted data may remain in a provider’s short-term technical backups until those are overwritten on their normal cycle. Deletion means erasure; where we keep statistics, they are anonymous.
